About Me

I’m currently finishing up my Ph.D. in English and Media Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. My current research looks at how reality television and digital culture construct ideas of professional achievement and success for tween, teen, and young adult girls living in today’s celebrity-oriented and entrepreneurial gig economy.

Before moving to Wisconsin for graduate school in 2013, I called New Mexico and Montana home. I also worked as a videographer, community college instructor, and marketing and design professional. In this next stage of my career, I am seeking opportunities to teach and research in academia or work in content marketing and brand management in tech, nonprofit, or higher ed admin.

When I’m not spending my days writing and researching, I can be found concocting my latest cross stitch design, organizing viewing parties for The Bachelor, playing Pokemon Go with my friends, and planning my next hiking trip.
